Back to School: Teaching Your Body, Mind and Soul to Function Optimally

When your body, mind and soul are all in balance you will experience a number of benefits both in terms of health and in your general well being. Inner peace, a sense of fulfillment and self confidence are just some of the benefits that you may experience when you achieve this balance. It is possible to train your body, mind and soul to work together in perfect balance simply by following a simple daily routine.

1. Regular exercise is not just great for the body, it also feeds your mind and soul. The key is finding physical activity that you enjoy so that it doesn’t seem like a chore! Whether that means walking, playing soccer, or even dancing just be sure to do it as often as you can.

2. We often go through life at break neck speed, never stopping to reflect on the little things we should be thankful for. Taking just a few minutes each day to reflect on these can bring peace and fulfillment to your day.

3. Establishing a steady sleep pattern is a great way to give your overall health a boost so do try to get into the habit of going to bed and getting up at the same time each night. When you get a good night’s sleep you will have more strength and energy to deal with whatever life throws your way.

4. A popular form of exercise these days is yoga and the great news is that it offer a huge number of benefits both physically and spiritually. This is because it incorporates meditation which can also be done independently to clear your mind.

5. There is an old saying that goes ‘a little of what you fancy does you good’, so why not indulge your passions. Take the time to do something you love, even if it is something just for you. It is a great way of alleviating the stress of every day life.

6. Studies show that we spend 90% of our time indoors! That’s not good! Get outside and enjoy a little fresh air. Soak up the sun and absorb some much needed vitamin D which can speed up the healing process.

7. A diet which includes plenty of greens will supply your body with plenty of vitamins and minerals so stock up on things like broccoli, spinach and cucumber.

8. Have you ever really listened to your own thoughts? Often we are too busy stressing out over our jobs and our lives and we don’t really pay any mind to our own thoughts. If we take the time to listen to our own thoughts it gives us the opportunity to let go of the negative ones and invite some positivity into our lives.

9. Another great way to sort out our thoughts and clear our minds is to keep a journal. Sometimes putting our thoughts and problems down on paper helps us to to see the solution. It’s also a great way to record our memories.

10. Having negative people around you is every bit as toxic as harmful chemicals! It is good to avoid anyone who has a negative influence on your life. Instead surround yourself with positive influence and see how it boosts your general well-being.
